Elizabeth walked around taking in the place that she had grown up – the place that she had called home for 7 years. She had been teaching at Hogwarts for two years now and it still seemed like a dream but she was home and that was something she loved. Of course teaching had its challenges and if you parted her knowledge on at least one student then she was doing her job correctly. Her life had not been easy when her parents passed away, it had been so difficult and for a short while she had rebelled, it had been expected. But, her grandmother had become her constant and it was her who told her that she would have been stupid not to take this job. Sadly, the woman that had been her constant passed away 6 months into her job, but although it made her sad – the happy memories were her guidance.
It had been difficult to settle in about become a professor – Elizabeth has no idea where she would start and the students were difficult but that had all been in the past now and she had found her stride. At this present moment in time she was walking around grounds before the students ar-rived to begin another year. The students seemed to look younger every year and it was hard to believe that she stood in their shoes all those year ago – oh how proud her parents had been when she had been sorted into Ravenclaw, the years passed one by one and now she seemed older and wiser.
Often, Elizabeth would pray to whatever gods and goddess exists to protect her students as the dark times approached. Her parents had been raised during the past war – in times that they didn’t know but that was something that never stopped them, they had given her such a happy childhood and guided her with their grace and always ensured that she was safe.
A soft smile embraced on her lips as she stood by the lake at dusk watching the sunset. It was now her duty to guide her students the best she could – she had faith that they would be kept safe, which was her only wish. Closing her eyes for a moment, her hair in soft waves over her shoulders and dressed in a simple pair of black trousers and a light blue top completed with a leather jacket – she had a small love for muggle fashion and the way she dressed showed it. “This is my home.” She quietly muttered to herself.
Every student found their place here at the enchanting castle and she hoped that would always happen with every year that passed. Pulling her jacket closer to her body as cold wind ran through for a moment lost in deep thought. This was something she did every year – it was reflect on the past and the future. She had sworn to herself she wouldn’t forget a single moment of what made her the person she was and the people she did miss.
What she wouldn’t give sometimes to freeze a moment so that it wouldn’t be lost to her – some moments caused her to just smile, it was almost as if it was a light that would cause a glow.
