Realms of Amicitia
For many years the lands of Amicitia were divided by a fearsome war. No-one remembers how it started but everyone remembers that no-one was safe from it. Everywhere was a battlefield, fields were burned and homes were destroyed. So many lives were lost and families were torn apart. It was the death of the Immortal Queen Nymeria striving for peace among the lands that brought the war to an end. Upon the battlefield she threw herself between the blades of her husband and the leader of the opposing army, being cut down by them both, she died in the arms of her husband pleading with him to make peace. Her death brought the battle to a stand still with everyone laying down their swords in honour of her sacrifice. Her husband, her son and her daughter began a campaign that pleaded for peace so that the death of their wife and mother would not be in vain.
All were surprised when the werewolves, considered the most war loving of the races, were the first to agree to peace but they'd witnessed the death of Queen Nymeria and her sacrifice had quelled their desire for war. The Elves were next to join their plea for peace and one by one the other races agreed. A truce was brokered between the races, the borders of the lands were merged and a council was formed by the Oracles with the guidance of the gods. Together they built Amicitia City as a sign of their new found peace. A memorial was built for Queen Nymeria so that her sacrifice would never be forgotten. For 75 years the peace was maintained and Amicitia enjoyed a period of prosperity like none that had ever come before, the races lived and worked together for the betterment of all but old hatreds were not forgotten and some used the time of peace to plot and scheme, they chose to bide their time for the opportune moment that would come on the 75th anniversary of the truce when the leaders of every race was gathered…
