PERSONALITY ▹ astoria always makes sure she looks good, and everyone better notice it. vain and superficial, astoria is quite popular amongst her peers, mostly in slytherin, as she is very outspoken, outgoing, and witty. she comes from a long line of purebloods, which is a fact that she is proud to tell anyone who comes her way. however, she isn't as prejudiced against muggleborns and muggles as some of her fellow slytherins are. this is because astoria just doesn't care for it. she cares much more about what is on the outside of a person rather than the inside - and this would mean blood status, too, of course. besides, she may or may not secretly have a soft spot for muggle cosmetics. however, her family and all of her friends all expect her to be this mudblood-hating, pureblood-loving fanatic, and so that is how she acts.
a confident young lady, astoria is known for being tenacious and carefree. she is a go-getter, and rarely anything will get in her way when she has her eyes set on something. she's also a bit of a spoiled brat, as she is extremely used to getting whatever it is she wants without having to put up much of a fight over it. this is because astoria has learned how to get what she wants, and often times she does so by using her silver tongue. she can be very charming and persuasive when she wants to be, and she usually manages to charm her way into anything she wants. but if that doesn't happen, and something she wants is denied to her, then astoria will throw a tantrum. and that is when the jinxes and hexes start coming out. in other words, it's best to just give astoria what she wants before getting on her bad side - because that is a side of her you definitely don't want to see.
astoria is actually a mellow sort of person who is passionate about fashion and make-up. if you approach her alone, you'll probably have a fairly decent and civil conversation with her - but that "slytherin sting" of hers might make an appearance once or twice. nonetheless, astoria can be relatively nice when she wants to be. when she is around her friends, though, astoria will turn into a snobby, mean-spirited, superior sort of girl. she has a witty but cruel sense of hurmor, often times making mischief by jinxing someone or just spreading nasty rumors about them. astoria might have a silver tongue, but she can have a sharp tongue as well. the worst part about it all, is that astoria actually finds it to be kind of fun, in this twisted sort of way. it gives you a powerful feeling, like being on top of the social circle. however, when she is alone and fully has time to think about what she has done and what she has said, she feels very terrible about herself. astoria can be very cynical, especially when she realizes just how horrible of a person she is.


DESCRIPTION soft blonde hair, often featured with loose princess curls and framing her face. she has a light skin tone, slightly tanned, with a small nose, plump lips, and arched brows. her almond-shaped eyes are a pretty shade of blue-green. astoria is petite-sized and quite thin for her age. when she wears make-up, she looks older for her age. she is described as having a bit of a "baby face", which she is constantly embarrassed about


HISTORY ▹ coming from such an elite pureblood family, one of the "sacred twenty-eight" no less, meant that both astoria and her older sister daphne were raised in luxury. from a young age, astoria was given everything to her on a silver platter. her sheltered environment made her spoiled and thoughtless, bratty and selfish. just like her sister, astoria was sent to a private school to learn magic before she was allowed to go to hogwarts. this was partly due to the fact that a blood malediction disease ran in their family, causing their parents to be overprotective of the girls. astoria would often try and sneak out but was always caught up her parents. just like most of the other purebloods, she was raised to believe in pureblood supremacy. and for a long while, she did actually believe it. but who could blame her? she was surrounded by purebloods, her own family and others just like them, all her life. she had never even met or seen a muggle... until she was nine years old. it was going to be her older sister's first year at hogwarts. astoria was excited just to be able to tag along and wave daphne goodbye as she went off. she clung to her mother's elegant robes, knowing that king's cross station would have plenty of those terrible, awful muggles her parents were always talking about and sneering over.

however, when astoria peeked out from behind her mother, there were no ugly, evil creatures out to get her. muggles looked just like her - just like her mother, and her sister, and her father. astoria was shocked - even more shocked by that then by seeing platform 9 ^3/4. and that is when astoria began to realize that wizards and muggles weren't so different after all. although she never voiced this thought aloud, it is something that has been clear in her mind ever since that day. it might be partly due to the fact that astoria wants to rebel against her parents in some way. she doesn't like her parents and she resents the fact that they never took the time to love and care for them like normal parents do - like even muggle parents would do. by not upholding the pureblood standard they had worked so hard to instill within her as a child, it was like rebelling against them, even if astoria is the only one who even knows about such mutiny.

her time at hogwarts has been relatively short so far, only being in her third year. however, astoria is one of the most popular girls in slytherin house. the rest of the school doesn't seem to like her or her jinxes or her mean-spirited sense of humor which often pokes fun at people. although astoria both might say she hates muggles in order to fit in, she still secretly uses muggle make-up and cosmetics. she kind of wishes she was taking muggle studies class, but that would be the end of her social life if she dared to do such a thing. astoria feels very badly about herself, viewing herself as a cruel coward who crumples under peer pressure. because she doesn't like who she is on the inside, she focuses on making herself appear pretty and perfect on the outside - but beauty can only hide who you really are for so long...

FAMILY ▹ eleusis greengrass - astoria's father, a wealthy ministry man who is all business. astoria can't remember ever seeing him smile. he is often very busy with his work, and so he is rarely in the house. growing up, astoria can only recall spending actual time with him once or twice, and each of those times he would be at his desk, lecturing astoria about the importance of being a greengrass pureblood. eleusis wasn't even there to see astoria off when she started her first year at hogwarts. astoria fears her father more than she loves him, which explains why she wants to rebel against her parents but doesn't feel safe enough to do it in such an outright manner
▹ cassiopeia greengrass - astoria's mother, very cold and standoffish, even to her own daughters. a materialistic woman, cassiopeia believes that she can buy her daughters' love, and so will often opt to buying them whatever they so wish to have, just as long as they will leave her alone. needless to say, astoria grew up without strong, loving parental figures in her life. cassiopeia was mainly the one who instilled the pureblood fanatical thought into her daughter when she was young. she would also be sure to remind astoria to "stand up straight, walk with your head up, stop dragging your feet, look at me when i talk to you, don't slouch!" which probably explains the rigidness of astoria now.
▹ daphne greengrass - her older sister, and basically the only person who astoria actually loves. although her mother and father were absent from her life growing up, and even now, astoria has always and will always will look up to her older sister. while at school, astoria may have her own group of friends to call her own, but she still likes to try and spend time with her sister... even if daphne might not want to hang out with her "baby sister".
