little miss faye | whenever she went to hogsmeade, faye made it a habit to drop by honeydukes. a favorite amongst hogwarts students - and even some staff - honeydukes was a candy palace that had everything from chocolate frogs to jelly slugs and all the way to bertie bott's every flavor beans - but faye had stopped buying those once she finally got a beeswax-flavored one. although faye loved magical candies and sweets, sometimes she wished she could just get a normal, muggle lollipop instead of the strange blood-flavored ones they had here. for once, the shop wasn't overly crowded with eager youngsters looking for their sugar crave. faye enjoyed the relatively easygoing atmosphere as she scanned the walls and various aisles, color popping out at her with various wizarding advertisements. by now, she figured she had to have had tried nearly everything honeydukes had to offer. she gently toyed with a bag of spicy gumdrops that apparently let you breathe fire like a dragon, her long fingers playing with the wrapping. she noticed how the wrapping clearly had SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS! printed in large, bolded words on the very front. faye smiled a bit bittersweetly to herself - 'oh spicy gumdrops,' she thought to herself, 'if only i had friends, right?' realizing how pathetic she probably looked to the others in the shop just standing there, staring with slightly narrowed sterling grey eyes at a bag of dragonfire gumdrops, she quickly moved along, her signature cool, expressionless facade overtaking her once more. sure she was here by her lonesome, and sure it bothered her a little bit (and only a little bit, she reassured herself), especially when she realized that nearly everybody else in honeydukes had a friend or partner with them. but faye refused to let such vulnerability show. besides, she'd grown quite used to it after all these years. the honey-blonde female brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. she shouldn't feel so badly about it, she tried to tell herself. she had her books and her studies to keep her company. there was a reason she was at the top of her class and a ravenclaw prefect, after all. she didn't have time for friendships or relationships or anything like that. with this thought in mind, she spotted a last pack of sugar quills and reached out to grab it. she knew how popular these were, so she felt quite lucky. |
