None the less, they were going to try it. For the weekend from Friday evening to Sunday evening, the school would be on lock down. No one allowed in once the sun set without his permission. No magic either. Except for the professors when it came to setting everything up. They were going to do this like Muggles did. Albus thought it sounded fun.
He had called in a few favors and pulled a few strings and by Friday afternoon, had all the Professors not in classes, setting up dozens of large tents. Authentic, or so he was told, muggle tents. Where campers slept on the ground in padded cloth bags. He had however relented and followed the suggestion of some of the staff to allow the floors of the tents to be padded as well due to enchantments.
The large 'campground' was set up next to the Forbidden Forest. Far from the castle and on flat ground. Albus busied himself setting up five large fire pits. in for clearings they had created between the mass of tents. One for each house and the staff though the students and staff would be able to mingle at the other pits. He had Hagrid and Filch off gathering a large quantity of wood to burn.
There were long tables constructed and currently being loaded with food for the night. House elves marched between the campground and the castle bringing out food, camping equipment and necessities.
Albus straighten up from the fire pit and looked around. It was clear people were not used to all of this. Professors and staff were having problems setting up tents and there were a great deal of cursing, grumbling and complaining all around but it would all work out.
Everything would be set up and good to go soon enough. By the time the sun began to set the students would begin to arrive. They were not permitted to use their wands this weekend though Albus was not naive enough to believe no one would. However, staff would assist the students to their tents at bed time and make sure boys stayed in the boys tents and girls in the girls tents. Of course, entering the Forbidden Forest was out of the question as well and staff would be patrolling for such attempts.
