PERSONALITY ▹ pureblood maura westenra is noted for being a curious and pure-hearted sort of girl. "innocent" is possibly the best word to describe her. having been raised in a very sheltered environment with her pureblooded parents, maura always longed to explore and see the rest of the world. maura has always been an open-minded person, possibly because of her natural curiosity and quest for knowledge, which also included learning about muggles. maura is kind, sometimes obliviously so, dreamy, airy, and idealistic. she speaks in a very frank and honest manner, but rarely will she ever say something inherently mean or rude. her friendly nature extends to everyone - and i mean everyone. although some purebloods look to maura  and her family as being nothing but a " bunch of blood traitors", maura still treats them with respect and kindness, just like how she'd treat everyone else. while this is beacuse maura is just a friendly sort of gal, she also knows it's because that's how they were raised to be - and children can't help how they were raised to be, after all. maura is both empathetic and sympathetic in this way.
the most notable trait about maura, though, is her love for all things muggle - especially muggle inventions. she finds it aboslutely fascinating how non-magical folks were able to pretty much create "magic" of their own - television, the internet, electricity, and vaccuums! although her parents can't understand her love for muggle things, they try to awkwardly support maura in any way they can, and have even gifted maura a tv set of her own for her 13th birthday. sometimes maura thinks that magic makes life too easy and even boring at some times. magic can clean for you, cook for you, do laundry for you - heck, it can even tie your shoelaces for you! with all this magic around, there's a feeling that they aren't actually living life, so to speak. despite the wiseness of maura, she often comes off as being quirky and airheaded, and because of this rarely ever do people actually take her seriously. nonetheless, most people tend to like her because she's a sweet, loving person with such doe-eyed innocence that it's almost hard to actually hate her.


DESCRIPTION ▹ maura is a petite female, with a small "dancer's frame" with willowy appendages and an hourglass figure. from her southern spanish side, she inherited her mother's sun-kissed, tanned complexion. she has soft chocolate brown hair which fades into a lighter brown-blonde at the tips. she is noted for her pretty hazel-brown "doe eyes" which are often filled with unwavering hope and optimism. although she is well-versed with muggle fashion more than other wizards are, she still tends to dress a bit quirky, with her own style that really makes her stand out


HISTORY ▹ maura comes from a welsh & spanish pureblood family. unlike most pureblooded families, the westenras are noted for being much more accepting of muggles and muggleborns. however, they don't tend to associate with muggles, mostly because they don't understand them the same way that maura does. nonetheless, they have always supported their daughter's interest with them. from a young age, maura would regularly go out to play with the muggle children of her village.

FAMILY ▹ gareth westenra - a high-ranking ministry man. gareth is a welsh pureblood from an old money fortune - and when i say old money, i mean old money. however, the wesentra family believes in hard work over an easy ride, so gareth had to make a fortune for himself before he was allowed to inherit his family's money. while this instilled a value of hard work into the man, it also made him a bit of a workaholic, and so he is often out of the house on business meetings or trips. nonetheless, he loves his family and tries to provide for them anything they could want
▹ adriana westenra - maura's mother is a pureblood witch from spain who moved to england to get away from her discriminatory pureblood family. adriana is a brave, free-spirited woman who raised maura to believe in always standing up for what she loves. much like maura, she is a bit of an idealist and sometimes gets lost in her own thoughts. maura looks up to her mother as a role model, and will usually turn to her whenever she needs comfort or advice. it was adriana's idea to buy maura a muggle television set, although she doesn't quite find the appeal of non-magical things herself
